The Worcester City Council has initiated a public consultation, inviting individuals and businesses to provide feedback on a proposed plan outlining its objectives for the city for the upcoming five-year period. The deadline for submitting opinions on the draft City Plan 2025-2030 is January 19. According to the authority, this new document is intended to guide the council’s policies, strategies, and services, ensuring the realization of its stated ambitions. It will also serve as a foundation for securing funding and partnerships essential for achieving its objectives. The draft plan has received joint endorsement from the leaders of the Worcester City Council’s three largest political factions: Lynn Denham of Labour, Louis Stephen of the Green Party, and Jessie Jagger of the Liberal Democrats. The plan’s objectives are organized into five distinct themes. In addition to the online consultation, council officials are scheduled to participate in focus groups to engage with young people and residents residing in the city’s most disadvantaged communities, gathering their perspectives. The authority stated that the feedback gathered will be incorporated into a final version of the plan, which is slated for presentation at a full council meeting on February 18.
