Arrest Made in Greece in Connection with Ormskirk Murder Investigation

An individual has been apprehended in Greece in connection with the murder of a teenager in Lancashire. Matthew Daulby, 19, from Liverpool, was fatally stabbed in Ormskirk on 29 July 2023. Thomas Dures, 21, was taken into custody in Athens on Monday and subsequently appeared before a court in Greece, as confirmed by Lancashire Police. The force indicated that arrangements are currently being made for his extradition to the UK. In a tribute released after Mr Daulby’s passing, his family described him as “compassionate, loving and funny”. They also stated that he had “a bright future ahead of him”. The family added: “He had a zest for life and was always looking forward to holidays with his family and friends.”
