Industrial action previously scheduled for the London Underground has been called off subsequent to wage negotiations involving the Aslef union and Transport for London (TfL). These industrial actions were initially set to commence on Thursday, with an additional walkout scheduled for the following Tuesday. Aslef stated that London Underground management presented a “significantly improved” pay offer, which the union intends to discuss with its members on Thursday. Claire Mann, representing TfL, commented: “We believe we have made an offer to our trade unions that is fair, affordable, good for our colleagues and good for London and we urge our trade unions to continue working with us.” Finn Brennan of Aslef expressed that the union was “pleased” that strike action had been averted at this time. He added that he could not disclose additional details until after the meeting scheduled for Thursday. Separately, on Friday, the RMT union also cancelled its scheduled strike after receiving a pay offer from TfL.
