A man has been convicted of murder following a five-week trial concerning the death of a teenager. Kevin Pokuta, 19, passed away in December after being shot on Page Hall Road in Sheffield. Previously, a jury at Sheffield Crown Court determined Jake Brown, 25, was guilty of murder, attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH), conspiracy to rob, and two firearm-related offences. He was acquitted of one charge of attempted murder. Brown was tried alongside Leon Waite, 26, Lester Ramsey, 25, Adam Mulligan, 33, and a 17-year-old male, all of whom were found guilty of conspiracy to rob. In October, Waite and Ramsey were cleared of charges including murder, attempted murder, attempted GBH, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. With the exception of the 17-year-old, all defendants were remanded into custody. Their sentencing hearing is scheduled for 16 December at Sheffield Crown Court.
