Two individuals were successfully rescued from a bay on the Isle of Wight after becoming isolated by the incoming tide in the dark. HM Coastguard was alerted to the pair’s situation at Luccombe Bay, near Ventnor, just before 22:00 GMT on Saturday. A search operation was initiated, involving a helicopter, a Bembridge RNLI lifeboat, and rescue teams from both Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard. HM Coastguard confirmed that the lifeboat transported the two people safely to shore.
