A woman has been apprehended on suspicion of arson after the front door and letterbox of a residence caught fire. Emergency services were called to a property located in Sweden Place, Brandon, Suffolk, at 18:31 GMT on October 29, following reports of a blaze. Fire crews deployed breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire on the front door using a one-hose reel jet. Suffolk Police confirmed that the fire is being investigated as arson, and a woman in her 40s was arrested in connection with the event. The woman was transported to Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where she remains. The blaze was attended by firefighters from Brandon and Mildenhall, as well as crews from Norfolk fire stations in Methwold, Thetford, and Downham Market. Initially, it was believed the property was occupied, but it was quickly established that all occupants were accounted for. One person received treatment at the scene for smoke inhalation from an ambulance crew, and the incident was declared closed at 21:07.
