The family of a man who died following a collision between his scooter and a car has paid tribute to him, describing him as “larger than life”. The West Midlands Ambulance Service reported that the incident occurred around 13:45 GMT on Sunday, near the junction of Steenwood Lane and the B5013 in Blithfield, Admaston, Staffordshire. Darren John Dunning, 53, was found by emergency crews in a critical state and was pronounced deceased at the scene. In a tribute released on Wednesday, his family characterized him as an “amazing, unique, larger-than-life character” who “gained his angel wings far too soon”. The tribute further stated: “He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, four children, granddaughter, sister, his amazing family and his many friends.” Police are appealing for anyone with information or relevant CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area at the time of the crash to come forward.
