Authorities have taken a fourth individual into custody in connection with a murder inquiry concerning a fatality on a residential road. Kieran Shepherd, aged 30, suffered fatal injuries following an alleged assault that occurred in Meadgate Avenue, Great Baddow, on October 15. Essex Police previously disclosed the arrest of a 20-year-old male in Basildon on suspicion of aiding an offender. This individual was subsequently released on bail until January 28, as additional inquiries are conducted, the police force stated. Three other men have already appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court, facing charges of murdering Mr Shepherd. These three individuals are currently being held in custody in advance of a plea hearing scheduled for January 6. A member of the public discovered Mr Shepherd unresponsive, leading to police being summoned to Meadgate Avenue around 12:30 BST on the day of the incident. Mr Shepherd’s family, in a statement released via the police, characterized him as a “kind and loving son, brother and father”. Law enforcement officials indicated that the most recent apprehension occurred on November 19.
