Le Tissier Identifies Scope for Manchester United Improvement

England defender Maya Le Tissier, who was appointed Manchester United captain this summer, stated that the team has “a lot more” areas for improvement as they get ready for their match against Leicester City on Sunday. Currently, United holds the fifth position in the Women’s Super League standings, having secured three victories and three draws in their initial six games. Although the team remains undefeated and has achieved five clean sheets across all competitions this season, certain supporters have voiced criticism regarding their displays. Speaking to BBC Sport, Le Tissier remarked, “We’ve kept five clean sheets in our seven games, which is quite impressive. Now we need to focus on what we can do with the ball.” She further added, “From a defender’s point of view, we’re very happy. Every player in the whole team has played their part.” When questioned about the season generally, Le Tissier expressed the team’s eagerness to resume winning after a sequence of three consecutive draws. She continued, stating, “I think we can do a lot better. We’ve had the results we’ve had and are still unbeaten – but there’s a long way to go.” Le Tissier concluded by saying, “There are a lot more things we can improve. We have an exciting squad.
