A pop-rock group has expressed their anticipation, stating they “can’t wait to return to Norfolk next summer,” following the announcement that they will headline a music festival scheduled for Norwich. McFly, featuring singer Danny Jones, who was the winner of this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, is scheduled to perform on the inaugural night of the Rock N Roll Circus event at Earlham Park next August. The four-member band, recognized for popular songs like All About You and Five Colours in Her Hair, will have support from Sam Ryder, an Essex-based singer-songwriter and former Eurovision contestant. In an official statement, McFly commented: “Rock N Roll Circus in Norwich sounds amazing. See you there.” McFly gained prominence in 2004 following the release of their first album, Room on the 3rd Floor, an achievement that led to the group receiving a Brit Award for Best British Pop Act. Subsequently, the quartet has achieved seven UK number one singles and global sales of millions of records. Their appearance at Earlham Park is scheduled for 14 August, alongside Ryder, The Lottery Winners, Rianne Downey, Deco, and Norwich’s Youth Killed It. The festival is set to continue until 17 August, with Courteeners and Olly Murs also headlining during the weekend. Ali O’Reilly serves as the director of the festival, which combines “incredible live music with the wonder of the circus,” featuring elements such as acrobatics and aerial displays. He commented, “Rock N Roll Circus is launching in Norwich with a bang.” He added, “McFly is the perfect act to open the show. Their energy and iconic hits will set the tone for an unforgettable weekend.” Information regarding Norfolk news can be accessed on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram, and X. Copyright 2024 BBC.
