A four-vehicle collision occurred on the M49 close to Bristol, resulting in one individual being transported to the hospital. Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance crews, were dispatched to the site of the incident, which took place at approximately 17:50 GMT, specifically between junction 18 of the M5 and junction 22 of the M4. Avon and Somerset Police stated, “One person has gone to hospital by ambulance with injuries which are not currently believed to be either life-threatening or life-changing”. The incident led to traffic that was trapped within the affected area being held by police for a duration of two hours before being allowed to proceed. Despite this, the road continues to be closed.
