The capital city, London, is poised to potentially host World Pride 2030, following confirmation from the organisers of Pride in London that they intend to submit a bid for the 10-day event. Christopher Joell-Deshields, who leads Pride in London, stated that the celebratory event would extend beyond “just a parade,” incorporating dialogues on subjects such as LGBTQ+ inclusive education and the prohibition of so-called conversion therapy. Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, characterized the metropolis as “a beacon of inclusiveness, acceptance and diversity.” He further expressed that he was “hugely proud” of London’s prospective involvement in hosting the occasion. World Pride serves as an international gathering designed to enhance the visibility and understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer matters. Washington DC has been designated as the host for World Pride in 2025, with Amsterdam scheduled to host in 2026. In 2012, London was originally slated to host World Pride, but financial constraints led to the event being significantly reduced in scope.
