An individual has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges concerning the poisoning of three birds of prey. John Bryant, from West Ashby, Horncastle, appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. He entered a not guilty plea to two counts of using a trap to kill or capture a wild bird. Mr. Bryant, aged 40, also denied six counts of possessing an article capable of being used to commit a summary offence, as well as two counts of contravening health and safety regulations. He was granted unconditional bail, and a trial date has been scheduled for 6 March 2025. Lincolnshire Police stated that it had received reports of a red kite and two buzzards being poisoned and killed between the years 2017 and 2022.
