Having maintained an undefeated record as Jersey Bulls manager, with 11 wins and four draws across 15 matches since assuming the role in the summer, Elliott Powell expressed his aspiration to reach Wembley after his team secured a 2-0 victory against Bedfont Sports in the FA Vase. The closely contested match saw its deadlock broken with 10 minutes remaining when Jonny Le Quesne skillfully bypassed a defender and scored. Jack Boyle then sealed their advancement to the third round by converting an 89th-minute defensive miscue, marking his inaugural goal of the current season. This clean sheet extended the Bulls’ streak to nine consecutive games across all competitions without conceding a goal. “The carrot of Wembley is only seven games away when you start, six games away now, so clearly that’s quite tantalising,” Powell stated to BBC Radio Jersey. His team is currently pursuing promotion from the Combined Counties League. He further commented, “Hopefully it’ll be a last opportunity to play in the Vase because if we go up next year it’ll be the FA Trophy rather than the Vase, so this feels like a realistic opportunity to potentially get there.” Powell also noted, “But we are in the very early stages, so today gave us an opportunity to rotate.” He elaborated on the distinction between competitions, saying, “It’s a different pressure to being in the league campaign where we have to go every single week because teams around us don’t slip up often.” Concluding his remarks, Powell expressed, “We got through it today and hopefully can we can continue to progress a little bit further in this competition.” Post navigation Set-Pieces Proved Decisive in Liverpool’s Anfield Victory West Indies achieve first T20 series victory against England by successfully chasing 219 runs
