Due to ongoing strong winds impacting the UK, two drone light shows scheduled to take place in Nottingham have been canceled for safety reasons. These events, named “A Christmas Carol,” were intended to feature 600 drones illuminating the sky above Trent Bridge cricket ground on Saturday and Sunday. Both main shows, along with contingency performances planned for Monday and Tuesday, were called off because of Storm Darragh. Ticket holders will not be eligible for refunds, but they have the option to transfer their tickets to events scheduled for the coming year. Dominic Mills, chief executive of the organizers, Yuup, stated: “It became evident to us that the conditions at Trent Bridge were not going to be a safe environment in which to perform the show with over 600 drones in the sky.” He added: “The most important thing is the safety of the audience and also the team involved in producing the show.” A new drone light show is currently in production and is slated to be held at Trent Bridge in March. For further information, ticket holders are advised to visit the organizer’s website.
