England batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge, who scored 151 runs at an average of 50.33 during the T20 World Cup, has been transferred to the current champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, for the 2025 Women’s Premier League season. After not being selected in the inaugural 2023 season, Wyatt-Hodge was acquired by UP Warriorz for the second season of the competition earlier this year, though she did not feature in any matches. The 33-year-old player’s transfer to RCB is valued at 30 lakh rupees (£27,400). Wyatt-Hodge has participated in 164 T20 matches for England and emerged as their top run-scorer in the recent T20 World Cup, a tournament from which England exited in the group stage, which was considered disappointing. WPL franchises are permitted to include a maximum of six international players in their squads, with four of these allowed to be part of the playing XI. During the previous season, RCB’s international contingent included New Zealand’s World Cup-winning captain Sophie Devine, the prominent all-rounder Ellyse Perry and her Australian teammates Sophie Molineux and Georgia Wareham, England bowler Kate Cross, and South Africa all-rounder Nadine de Klerk. The schedule for the 2025 WPL, which is anticipated to occur in the spring, has not yet been disclosed.
