Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler has indicated that he will not rush Solly March’s return to action or place any pressure on the winger, who is approaching his comeback. The 30-year-old underwent two knee operations to repair meniscus damage and a ruptured cruciate ligament, injuries sustained after an awkward landing during the 2-1 defeat at Manchester City in October 2023. Hurzeler shared March’s recent declaration, stating, “He said to me yesterday, ‘gaffer I’m ready,’ ” The coach then elaborated on the club’s cautious approach: “But I think it’s important that we calm him down and give him the time to be prepared for a Premier League game after all this time.” He continued, “We don’t want to make two steps at one time.” Hurzeler further explained the necessity for March to regain full physical readiness: “He needs to improve his condition and physical shape to be fully ready for the intensity of the Premier League. I am sure he will improve fast and let’s see if we can see him before Christmas or after.” He concluded by emphasizing the importance of avoiding undue pressure on the player: “It’s important we don’t put pressure on him as a player.”
