A new weekly drop-in service, designed to offer assistance to individuals mourning the loss of loved ones, is scheduled to commence in Bradford. The Sue Ryder Grief Kind Space is slated to open this week at Baildon Rugby and Cricket Club. This establishment marks the eighth such facility operated by the charity across Yorkshire. These complimentary sessions, which do not require prior reservations, are accessible to adults who have experienced any form of bereavement at any point in their lives, according to Sue Ryder. The service will operate every Thursday for a duration of two hours, starting at 10:00 GMT. Tracy Brierley, an area coordinator for the organization, stated: “Our Grief Kind Spaces are welcoming, inclusive, and open to anyone over 18 who has experienced any kind of bereavement at any time.” She added: “Whether you want to attend regularly to connect with others in similar situations, or drop in for a quick chat you will receive a warm welcome.” For those impacted by bereavement, additional help and support can also be found via BBC Action Line. The charity has also issued a call for volunteers as it plans to establish more Grief Kind Spaces throughout the region, emphasizing that no previous experience is necessary. Ms. Brierley commented: “All of our sessions are run out in the community with the help of trained volunteers and we are looking for more people to join the team in Baildon, Bradford, Skipton and Bingley.”
