Accrington Stanley’s assistant manager, Ged Brannan, has been issued a one-game touchline suspension and a £250 penalty by the Football Association due to misconduct. Brannan joined Stanley in April as assistant to John Doolan, following his departure from Morecambe. The 52-year-old was handed the ban subsequent to the team’s 2-2 League Two draw against AFC Wimbledon on November 19. According to a statement from the FA, Brannan acknowledged “acting in an improper manner and using abusive and insulting words towards a match official after the final whistle.” The conclusion of the match was marked by intense moments, including James Tilley scoring a 97th-minute equalizer for the Dons, and Stanley defender Farrend Rawson being dismissed for violent conduct after the final whistle.
