A driver of a heavy goods vehicle was transported to a hospital following a collision involving two lorries on a motorway. Cambridgeshire Police, along with multiple fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the northbound carriageway of the A1(M) in Peterborough. National Highways communicated that the carriageway was closed subsequent to the crash, which occurred between junction 17 and the A47 near Wansford. The fire service provided assistance in extricating a casualty from one of the lorries. Police reported that one of the drivers was taken to hospital, though their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed that a male patient had been conveyed to Peterborough City Hospital for additional medical attention.
