A charitable organization, which supplies care packages to adult cancer patients, has announced its plan to begin managing a cafe located within a museum and art gallery. The Lewis Foundation is set to take over the operation of the Northampton Art Gallery and Museum’s outlet on November 12. The charity currently runs a coffee shop at the Elgar Centre in Northampton, alongside two retail stores situated in Northampton and Luton. Lorraine Lewis, chief executive and co-founder of The Lewis Foundation, stated she was “thrilled” to assume responsibility for the cafe’s management. The Lewis Foundation was established in 2016 by Lorraine and Lee Lewis, after they experienced more than four years of hospital visits while Mr. Lewis’s mother underwent cancer treatment. Every week, the charity provides free gifts and support packs to adult cancer patients in hospital. Ms. Lewis remarked that she “couldn’t wait” to bring “energy and passion” to the new venture. The gallery and museum are administered by West Northamptonshire Council. Daniel Lister, the council cabinet member for culture and leisure, commented: “The Lewis Foundation is the perfect organisation to take the lead on this.” He further added: “Their commitment to the local community and the excellent work they do with their existing coffee shop and charity aligns perfectly with our values.” Post navigation War Memorial Restored Through Efforts of Deceased Local Resident First Employment Boosts Man’s Theatre Career Ambition
