A woman has been charged in connection with a collision that resulted in the death of a 44-year-old woman. Derbyshire Police reported that they were called to an incident involving a Vauxhall Corsa and a Land Rover on the B5023, located between Idridgehay and Wirksworth, shortly before 09:45 GMT on Tuesday. Tracey Meek, the driver of the Corsa, was pronounced deceased at the scene, while a male passenger sustained serious injuries. A 42-year-old woman from Wirksworth faces charges including causing death by dangerous driving and other offences. The force confirmed that she appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. She was also charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and failing to co-operate with a preliminary test.
