Cornwall Rugby Club has finalized new agreements for the 2025 season with Malta forward Kaine Dimach and prop Chris Bannister. Dimach is eligible to represent Malta due to his Maltese father. Dimach, aged 29, initially joined the Choughs in January 2023 and has since made 33 appearances for the club over his two complete seasons. Bannister is set to commence his second campaign at Penryn, following a debut season that was affected by injury. Head coach Mike Abbott commented on Bannister to the club website, stating, “I’m made up that he’ll be with us again, the issues he had with injuries, hopefully this year he’ll get a run of games in.” New owner Ken Stone also remarked, “Kaine will become a Cornwall great.” Stone further added, “I have seen him develop into a very robust player being able to cover most positions. “Sometimes this can stunt a players ability to nail down his trade whoever his agile nature has only enhanced his potential.””
