Wolverhampton Council Introduces Free Parking for Festive Shoppers

Shoppers in Wolverhampton will be able to utilize complimentary parking in certain city zones during the lead-up to Christmas and the New Year. Free parking will be provided on Sundays at select council-operated sites, effective from December 8 through January 5. Furthermore, free parking will be available in the city centre on weekdays after 16:00 GMT, spanning from December 16 to January 3. The council indicated that this period coincides with extended shopping centre hours. Councillor Qaiser Azeem, who holds the position of cabinet member for transport and green city, stated his expectation that this initiative would draw shoppers into the city. “There is plenty going on in our city centre and towns with events to help you get into the seasonal spirit, so I really hope people take advantage of the free parking offer and enjoy a happy Christmas,” he said. “The offer also runs into the early part of January so that people can save a little bit extra when they hit the shops for the New Year sales.”
