Former striker Clinton Morrison stated that Ismaila Sarr, aged 26, will be considered “a hero” by Crystal Palace supporters following his two goals against rivals Brighton. These goals secured the points for Palace, marking their first victory against the Seagulls since 2021. Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily podcast, Morrison admitted, “I was the first one to question the signing.” He added, “But in the last five or six games Palace have gone unbeaten and scoring two goals in a derby will make him a hero!” Sarr’s career trajectory appeared uncertain during his time at Marseille, but he has since established himself as a regular player for Palace. His significant pace creates difficulties for opponents, and his goal-scoring contributions are boosting his confidence. Manager Oliver Glasner appears to be maximizing Sarr’s potential, a trend hoped to persist. Morrison also extended considerable praise to the team, acknowledging their current strong performance and recent turnaround.
