Norwich midfielder Emiliano Marcondes has stated that his late opportunity to salvage a point in the team’s 2-1 defeat by Burnley at Carrow Road will continue to occupy his thoughts. The 29-year-old player sent his shot wide during stoppage time, after the Canaries had relinquished an early lead and subsequently fallen behind due to goals scored by Zian Flemming and Josh Brownhill. “I’m not going to be able to sleep because of that one,” Marcondes told BBC Radio Norfolk. He added, “I tried to hit it harder at goal and when I hit it, I thought it was going in. But it was centimetres not going our way at both ends.” Reflecting on the experience, he continued, “We’re not machines so obviously I’ll think about it and also a lot of situations in the game – that’s how it is. I’ll analyse it a lot but I know I’ll get over it.” Norwich remains in 12th place in the table following their defeat by the Clarets, having secured only one point from their last three games. Marcondes further commented on the team’s sentiment, adding, “We are devastated because for long spells of the game we frustrated them.” He elaborated, “We should have been 2-0 up. In the second half we had a big chance on a corner and then they come back into the game out of nothing – from a very good goal, of course.” Post navigation Statistical Preview: Queens Park Rangers vs. Middlesbrough Farrell: All Blacks Deserved to End Ireland’s Home Winning Streak
