Celtic winger James Forrest has expressed his conviction that he intends to conclude his professional career with the club, stating his resolve to maximize his remaining time on the field. The 33-year-old recently secured a contract extension, which will keep him at Parkhead through the end of the upcoming season. Forrest presently ranks as Celtic’s second most decorated player, trailing Bobby Lennox, who holds 25 trophies, by a single honor. He has the potential to surpass the European Cup winner’s record during the current season. The Scotland international commented on his achievements, stating: “It’s unbelievable hearing stats like that. All the sacrifices you make to play here, there’s been so many highs and so much success. I don’t know how long I’ve got left but I’m going to make sure I enjoy it and then once I finish I can really look back at what I’ve achieved with the club.” Forrest further reflected on his extended tenure at the club, remarking: “If the club weren’t doing well I probably wouldn’t have been here for as long as I have.” He added his perspective on the club’s environment: “I’ve never really thought about it but as I got older, when you’re in the Celtic bubble winning league titles and playing in the Champions League I don’t think there’s much better.” Addressing his evolving position within the team, he noted: “My role has changed over the last few years but I’ve still enjoyed it. I’ve never thought about it but as I get older I think I will be [at Celtic for the remainder of his career].” He concluded by emphasizing the importance of enjoying his career: “You know you’re not going to play forever so you want to enjoy it as much as you can.” Post navigation Brighton’s Recurring Challenge: Inability to Defeat Bottom-Half Teams Statistical Preview: Bristol City vs. Sheffield United
