Following Scotland’s victory against Hungary at Easter Road, Nicola Docherty was observed embracing Sam Kerr. Left-back Nicola Docherty has stated that an “excellent” Scotland side has rediscovered its “winning mentality” after a challenging 2023. Last year, the Scottish team endured four defeats in six League A matches during their Nations League campaign, but they have since achieved an unbeaten qualifying campaign in pursuit of next summer’s Euro finals. Pedro Martinez Losa’s team is now only two matches away from qualifying for a major tournament, a feat not achieved since 2019. These two crucial games include a play-off against Finland. After Scotland’s 4-0 victory over Hungary at Easter Road, which secured a 5-0 aggregate win, Docherty informed BBC Scotland, “We’re finding the way to win with that winning mentality.” The Rangers defender further commented: “We’ve really started to believe in ourselves more after the disappointments of the last campaign.” She continued, “We’ve kicked on and want to make sure those moments don’t happen again. There’s a lot of belief in the dressing room now.” Scotland’s evident confidence and belief were showcased in their impressive performance against Hungary. The Rangers captain also stated: “We controlled the game, we limited them to very little chances and controlled possession.” She further added, “We played some exciting football and that’s what we want to bring to the fans. It was certainly a better performance than last week.” Concluding, she said, “Credit to the girls, I thought everyone was excellent tonight.” Post navigation Southampton’s Managerial Dilemma: Russell Martin’s Future Under Scrutiny Brighton’s Recurring Challenge: Inability to Defeat Bottom-Half Teams
