An inquest has been informed that authorities have commenced an investigation following the death of a 12-year-old girl from Pembrokeshire. Honey Foxx French, a resident of Hakin, Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, passed away subsequent to emergency services being summoned to a residence at 10:25 on 19 October. During the initial session of the inquest in Haverfordwest, it was stated that Honey was declared deceased at 11:50, notwithstanding the diligent efforts of paramedics. Assistant coroner Gareth Lewis formally opened the proceedings and subsequently adjourned them to facilitate additional investigative work. Carrie Sheridan, a coroner’s officer, informed the inquest that emergency services had received a call concerning the welfare of a child. She further stated that a post-mortem examination was conducted at West Wales General Hospital, but the cause of death remains undetermined. A preliminary date for the subsequent hearing has been scheduled for 10 April next year. Mr. Lewis extended his sympathies to Honey’s family. Following her passing, a collaborative statement issued by Pembrokeshire council and Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi described Honey as “much loved” and “cherished by all who knew her.” The statement added, “She was a keen performer and writer who gave generously of her humour, time and talents to support our school family and wider community – and she will be very much missed.” It concluded, “Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this sad time.” A fundraising initiative established to provide support for her family has garnered thousands of pounds.
