In Alderney’s 2024 election, two current States of Alderney members, Boyd Kelly and Lin Maurice, were not re-elected to their positions. Conversely, two other sitting members, Kevin Gentle and Alex Snowdon, successfully retained their seats. They will be joined by newly elected representatives Stuart Clark, Edward Hill, and Iain Macfarlane. Edward Hill, who garnered the most votes, stated: “I’m extremely humbled and deeply flattered that so many people voted for me. I had a very interesting manifesto and was probably slightly different to the normal type of manifesto which was focusing on solutions rather than the problems.” A total of 901 ballot papers were issued for the election. Three postal votes were not returned, and 10 ballots were declared spoilt. The voter turnout for the election was 63% of those registered on the electoral roll.
