During the 2024 World Championships in Kobe, Japan, Great Britain achieved a total of 12 medals, seven of which were gold. Next year, India will serve as the host nation for the World Para Athletics Championships for the inaugural time, with the event scheduled to be held in Delhi. World Para Athletics has declared that the 12th Championship will be conducted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, running from September 26 to October 5, 2025. Paul Fitzgerald, the head of World Para Athletics, commented, “We are delighted to announce that the first major championships of the new Paralympic cycle towards Los Angeles 2028 will be hosted in Delhi.” The 2025 Championships are anticipated to be the most significant international Para-sport event ever organized within India. Fitzgerald further stated, “India is one of the best examples of the growth and development of Para-athletics in the last decade.” The most recent World Championships, which took place in Kobe, Japan, in May, saw participation from over 1,000 athletes representing more than 100 countries.
