Omer Riza, who joined Cardiff in the summer as an assistant coach, stated he is “looking forward” to his initial transfer window as a manager, despite not having conducted any recruitment discussions with the Cardiff City hierarchy thus far. Currently, the Bluebirds are positioned one point above the Championship relegation zone, prior to their home fixture on Saturday against Sheffield United, who are at the top of the league. Riza indicated his desire to adopt a proactive approach in the transfer market, though he has not yet conferred with Cardiff’s owners regarding his strategies. “Fans always want new signings, of course,” Cardiff manager Riza informed BBC Sport Wales. He added, “We are always talking about players, whether it be signings or free agents, we’ve got a long list and a short list.” Riza also stated, “We are scheduled to have meetings with the board, which I am sure will happen soon.” Riza asserted that he possesses a distinct vision for Cardiff’s January strategy, noting that the team has not secured a victory in their last seven matches. He foresees both player exits from the Welsh capital and the arrival of new individuals. He commented, “I think there will be an option of loans or permanent signings, it all depends on what the remit is after we’ve had a discussion and had our conversations about how we approach it.” Riza expressed his eagerness, stating, “I am looking forward to it. I want things to start moving – I don’t want it to all come in a rush at the end.” He further elaborated on his preparations: “I have been preparing for a while. I have a list of players, I have been doing my homework for positions we need to strengthen. We’ve been looking abroad and at home.” He concluded by saying, “Once we’ve sat down we will know more. There will be outgoings, potentially senior outgoings and younger players as well.” Post navigation Newcastle United Reportedly Targets Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen Viktor Gyokeres: From Brighton Outcast to Sporting Sensation, a Career of Defying Expectations
