An individual has been charged following an assault on two people within their residence in Crossgar, County Down. Police reported receiving an account of two men entering a property in the Killyleagh Street area of the town. This entry occurred while the occupants were asleep, shortly after 19:00 GMT on Monday. Law enforcement officials stated that during the incident, one of the men, reportedly wielding a hurl, grabbed one resident by the throat. Simultaneously, the other resident was struck with the weapon, sustaining head injuries. A 35-year-old man, who was taken into custody by police, has since been charged on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
