Owen Dunstan, a 26-year-old resident of Chellew Road, Truro, has received a 12-year prison sentence following his conviction for three sexual offences. A jury at Truro Crown Court determined his guilt on 28 October, finding him responsible for rape and two sexual assaults. Evidence presented during the trial detailed how Dunstan assaulted two individuals during separate evenings out in Truro during 2020 and 2021. The sentencing was handed down on Thursday by His Honour Judge Simon Carr. Police staff investigator Martin Skinner commented on the case, stating: “Dunstan showed no consideration whatsoever for his victims in his pursuit of sexual gratification.“He targeted both of these young women following interactions in social environments.” Mr. Skinner also expressed gratitude to the victims for their “immense bravery” throughout what he described as a “lengthy investigation and court process.”
