Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has characterized the return of players from injury as a “good problem” regarding squad selection, ahead of Tuesday’s Championship fixture against Bristol City. The Black Cats secured their first victory in seven matches with a 2-1 win over Stoke City at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. With defender Dennis Cirkin rejoining the squad this past weekend, Le Bris expressed satisfaction with the available options. “It’s a good problem for me to have good players in the same area, where they can push each other,” the French coach informed BBC Radio Newcastle. Aji Alese, a former West Ham academy product, had filled in during Cirkin’s absence. Le Bris indicated that this internal competition for starting positions would be advantageous for his team, which has an opportunity to re-enter the automatic promotion spots during the midweek schedule. He further commented, “When we have a suspension or injuries, we still have a good back four.” Post navigation Archie Griffin Sidelined for ‘Considerable’ Period Following Shoulder Injury Sean Dyche Addresses Player Fitness, Tactical Decisions, and Brentford Match
