An eight-year-old girl from Wolverhampton has been diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer, making her the third member of her family to develop the condition. Both Kriti’s mother and grandfather previously underwent eye removal surgery due to the disease. While Kriti’s vision has been preserved, she has attended over 200 appointments at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Her mother, Aazmeen, stated that their family’s journey would have been impossible without the assistance provided by the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, a charitable organization supported by funding from Children in Need. Armanie, Kriti’s 15-year-old sister, described Kriti as a “warrior” and indicated that her sister’s experience had motivated her own aspiration to pursue a career as a paediatric oncologist.
