Rangers forward Ianis Hagi has stated that his affection for the club was the reason for his continued presence at Ibrox. Previously, a disagreement regarding his contract led to him being assigned to train and compete with the B team. During the summer, manager Philippe Clement had indicated that the Romania international was not included in his plans; however, a resolution was ultimately reached, facilitating his return to the first team. The 26-year-old player, when questioned about his strong desire to achieve a resolution, stated: “I love the club,” He added, “In football, everything changes quickly, from good to bad and also from bad to good. It’s tough when you’re not playing football but I’ve been in worse situations than this. When I was out injured for a year, for example.” Hagi disclosed that he engaged in conversations with manager Clement late in the summer, which suggested a potential future for him at Ibrox. He further commented, “There were conversations and at a certain point, we both wanted to win.” Hagi concluded, “I just want to do my job as a number 10 for this club. I know what I can bring to the table and I’m just happy to be back in the mix.”
