Rory Smith, the New York Times’ soccer correspondent, believes that despite a significant week ahead for Liverpool, the team has now secured some breathing room. Appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Smith stated that the Reds possess a robust core of players “that have been there and done it”. Smith further commented: “They know how to put together a season of 90-plus points and they now have a lead to play with.” He concluded by adding: “It’s very early, but they do have the experience to see it through.”
