John Mousinho, who guided Portsmouth to promotion from League One in his inaugural full season as head coach, has expressed admiration for the recent displays of Millwall, their upcoming opponents on Wednesday. Portsmouth, also known as Pompey, will welcome Millwall, referred to as the Lions, to Fratton Park. This fixture follows the postponement of their Championship game against Blackburn on Saturday, which has extended their hiatus from play since the international break. Millwall enters the match on an impressive streak, remaining undefeated in their last eight league encounters and having conceded merely three goals during this period. “They’re well-organised defensively and well-drilled as a team which is something we’ll have to work on to try to unpick that lock,” Mousinho stated in an interview with BBC Radio Solent. He further elaborated, “We need to move the ball quickly to put them under pressure but while their defensive record is excellent they’ve also got a real attacking threat as well.” Prior to the international break, Portsmouth secured their inaugural home win of the season, defeating Preston 3-1, a result Mousinho hopes signifies future success. Mousinho added, “As a general rule you try to build any success on decent home form and when you pick up home wins it gives you a bit more breathing space away which we haven’t had so this is definitely a very important game.” Post navigation Sinner to Meet Fritz in ATP Finals Championship Match Managerial Insights After Arsenal’s Triumph Over Tottenham (0-3)
