In west London, one man has died and two individuals sustained serious injuries following reports of a disturbance. Metropolitan Police officers responded to a call at Birkbeck Road, Acton, at 04:05 GMT on Sunday, where they discovered an injured man. Despite the interventions of emergency services personnel, the man succumbed to his injuries a brief period afterward. The London Ambulance Service (LAS) reported that two individuals were transported to major trauma centres as priority cases. Police indicated that several other people were thought to have been injured in the vicinity, with some receiving medical attention. The police force confirmed the establishment of an extensive crime scene, which encompassed multiple road closures. A spokesperson for the force stated: “While we recognise the impact this will have on local residents and businesses, it is essential to provide us with the best chance to secure evidence.” The spokesperson further noted: “The public can expect to see a significant police presence in the area as officers begin their investigation.” An ambulance spokeswoman confirmed: “We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.” She continued: “Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, one person died at the scene. “Two patients were taken as priorities to major trauma centres.” Authorities have issued an appeal for witnesses.
