Emergency services personnel have been addressing a fire that erupted at a disused NHS healthcare facility. According to Merseyside Fire and Rescue (MFRS), the fire at the abandoned Hesketh Centre, situated at the intersection of Albert Road and Park Road West in Southport, commenced around 02:40 GMT. MFRS further reported that the top floor and roof of the four-story structure, which was acquired at auction in July for £800,000, were “well alight”. Local roadways were temporarily shut down as four fire crews worked to extinguish the conflagration.
