Sally and Giles Rees, a couple who established a cookie enterprise following a fundraising initiative led by their children, have now opened their inaugural retail store. Wicked Cookies originated from their kitchen in 2016, after the couple assisted their children, Bailey and Zac, in raising funds for a trip to Disneyland. Eight years later, the company now produces approximately 100,000 cookies annually from its Nuneaton warehouse and supplies brands such as Warner Bros. This past Saturday, the business launched its first magic-themed shop, named Snickerwoodles—after one of its most popular products—in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. Mrs. Rees remarked that opening their initial store was a “dream come true.” She stated, “We are very much strong believers that life should be more magical.” Reflecting on the journey, she added, “I would never have thought when Bailey and Zac said that very first day we’re going to go and sell cookies around the neighbours that eight years on we would be doing this.” She reiterated, “Is like a dream come true.” Mrs. Rees further commented on their efforts, saying, “We have worked our absolute socks off and every year we think it would be easy and it’s not and there’s always challenges, but you’ve got to get through the challenges and you’ve got to stay positive.”
