Swansea City players Sam Parker and Josh Ginnelly are nearing their return to play after injuries, while Kristian Pedersen will be unavailable following hamstring surgery. Parker, an 18-year-old academy graduate, has been absent from play since January due to hamstring problems. Ginnelly, a 27-year-old wide player, has been sidelined since September 2023 with a ruptured Achilles. However, both individuals participated in full team training sessions this week. Swansea head coach Luke Williams commented on their progress, stating, “I would say we need weeks of training and to be very careful, but it’s good progress. That’s positive.” Goalkeeper Andy Fisher has achieved full fitness after recovering from a pre-season groin injury. Nevertheless, Williams indicated that the former MK Dons player is expected to start as the third-choice goalkeeper, behind Lawrence Vigouroux and Jon McLaughlin. McLaughlin’s short-term contract with the Championship team is set to conclude next month. Meanwhile, Pedersen remains unavailable, extending his challenging tenure at Swansea. The 30-year-old defender, formerly of Birmingham City, has played in only seven matches for the Welsh club since his arrival in the summer of 2023. This follows a loan period at Sheffield Wednesday during the latter half of the previous season. Williams confirmed, “He had surgery a while back and is now rehabilitating.” He added, “He certainly won’t be available for the foreseeable [future]. He needs recovery time.” Post navigation Andre Gray Expresses Desire to “Find His Rhythm” at Plymouth Argyle Nottingham Forest Manager Nuno Espirito Santo Discusses Anniversary, Brentford Match, and Squad Fitness
