Josh Nisbet is aiming to score his inaugural goal in Scottish football when Ross County faces Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership this Saturday. The Australia international midfielder, who joined County from Central Coast Mariners in the summer, has made 11 league appearances and noted a heightened level of physicality compared to Australia’s A-League. Nisbet stated, “I have been playing a bit deeper than I have previously, it’s something I definitely want, get one and keep getting on.” He added, “The longer it goes, the more you want it so hopefully I can get one this weekend.” Nisbet also remarked, “It’s a little bit different, probably more aggression compared to what I’m used to.” He continued, “But each league has got it’s own qualities and one of the reasons that I came here was to prove the physicality, that I can compete and do well.” Ross County, known as The Staggies, currently sits ninth in the league table, three points behind St Mirren in sixth position, and Nisbet expresses optimism regarding their standing as the festive period approaches. Nisbet commented, “Every game is winnable, you’ve got to go in there with the right mindset, this league is quite strong and competitive and if you can get points against tough opposition, it goes a long way.” He concluded, “We know as long as we show up on the day we’re going to get points and those points lead into positions, so as long as we perform and do our jobs, it’s in our hands, hopefully we can push on.” Post navigation Scotland’s World Cup 2026 Qualifying Campaign to Commence Against Denmark or Portugal Post-Match Reaction: Darcy Graham on Edinburgh’s 52-12 Triumph Over Bayonne
