The relatives of an individual whose demise led to a murder investigation have characterized him as “kind and selfless”. Alfred Langley, aged 77, was discovered deceased within a residence situated on Clipsley Lane in Haydock on 29 October. His family stated he had “touched the lives of everyone he met with his selfless acts of kindness”. Peter Langley, 33, residing on Clipsley Lane, Haydock, faces a murder charge. A tribute released by Merseyside Police on behalf of Mr. Langley’s family stated that Alfred was a “beloved husband, dad, grandad, great-grandad, brother, uncle and friend”. They added he was “always there, whether that meant running someone to a hospital appointment, welding a new gate or stepping in as a childminder”. The family further mentioned: “He loved holidays, rugby league and trips to the caravan.” “His legacy will live on through his family, who loved him so dearly.” Merseyside Police confirmed that specialist officers are providing support to the family.
