Blue Islands, an airline operating in the Channel Islands, has announced the introduction of three new air routes from Guernsey, commencing in 2025. Services to Exeter and the East Midlands are scheduled to begin in March, with flights to Norwich starting in May. The carrier, which currently provides flights connecting Guernsey with Jersey and Southampton, stated that tickets for these new services would become available for purchase starting Wednesday, December 11. Ronnie Matheson, representing Blue Islands, affirmed that ensuring “year-round connectivity” is “part of Blue Islands’ DNA.” He further indicated that these new routes would serve individuals traveling for “leisure, to and from university, visiting friends and relatives or for business.” Blue Islands specified that the Exeter service would operate with six flights weekly throughout the year. The East Midlands route is planned for three flights per week year-round, supplemented by additional services during the spring and autumn seasons. The Norwich route is scheduled to run from May through September, offering two flights per week. To accommodate the increased flight schedule, Blue Islands announced its intention to recruit additional Guernsey-based aircrew prior to summer 2025. Separately, Aurigny, Guernsey’s own airline, has declared its intention to reinstate its service to Exeter. Flights to Exeter had been suspended since June, and the forthcoming schedule, commencing in the summer, will include flights on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays.
