The coastguard has concluded a search operation initiated following the capsizing of a boat near Larne, County Antrim, after no findings were made. Emergency responders, including lifeboat crews and a helicopter, were dispatched to the location on Monday, approximately 16:20 GMT, following reports of an overturned catamaran situated 12 nautical miles (22km) from the Larne coastline. The search effort was terminated after an extensive five-hour period of scouring the designated area. According to the coastguard, the owner of a vessel matching the description had reported it lost on 27 October, and there were no reports of any individuals missing. A spokesperson for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) confirmed that a coastguard helicopter originating from Pretswick, Scotland, along with two P&O ferries, provided assistance during the operation. Furthermore, two all-weather lifeboat crews from the Larne and Red Bay RNLI stations participated in the search activities.
