Renowned television personality and pantomime dame, Christopher Biggins, is scheduled to activate Woking’s Christmas tree lights. Biggins, currently performing in the pantomime Sleeping Beauty at the New Victoria Theatre, will illuminate the tree, which was a donation from the Woking Asian Business Forum. The event will additionally feature carol singing, live musical acts, dance displays, and a conventional Christmas market offering gifts and refreshments. This gathering is set to occur in Jubilee Square on 21 November, commencing at 16:45 GMT, with the illumination of the lights planned for 18:00. Shahid Azeem, who chairs the Woking Asian Business Forum, stated: “Christmas is about community, family, celebration and togetherness. “We are proud to support the local community by donating this year’s Christmas tree. “It’s a pleasure to contribute to a celebration that brings our communities together and spreads festive cheer.” Ann-Marie Barker, the leader of Woking Borough Council, commented that the Christmas lights switch-on unites “people of all ages to celebrate the joy of the season”.
