Authorities have apprehended a man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, following a substantial house fire that occurred in a rural village last week. Concurrently, a man in his 60s was released under investigation as police persist with their enquiries into the incident on Codford high street, situated near Warminster, Wiltshire. The residential blaze was initially reported at 22:40 GMT on 31 October, with approximately 35 firefighters engaged in combating it at its peak. Wiltshire Police and the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service are conducting a joint investigation into the occurrence at the Georgian property. Firefighting personnel from multiple stations, specifically Warminster, Wilton, Westbury, Salisbury, and Amesbury, responded to the incident. Additionally, crews and equipment from Yeovil were dispatched to the location.
