England-capped winger Ollie Hassell-Collins has become the latest Leicester Tigers player to agree to a new deal with the Premiership high-flyers. The 25-year-old is the fourth individual in as many days to prolong his tenure, following fellow England international Ollie Chessum, Tonga centre Solomone Kata, and Scotland prop Will Hurd. Hassell-Collins has accumulated 16 tries in 32 appearances for the East Midlands club since his transfer from London Irish in the summer of 2023. Tigers head coach Michael Cheika noted that the winger’s six tries in 10 appearances this season “shows exactly why we really wanted him” to remain with the club. “He is a great character in our squad and it’s great that he will be in the green and red going forward,” Cheika conveyed to the club website. Hassell-Collins, who debuted for England in February 2023, previously scored 43 tries in just over 100 matches for his former team, London Irish – a club that ceased operations mere months after his departure. He stated that he is “enjoying life in Leicester” and added that it was “great” to have his future secured. “We have a great squad, brilliant coaches and amazing support so there’s nowhere I’d rather be right now,” he affirmed.
